When Everything Changed

Cancer took their mother. And with her, the only stability these three boys had ever known. In Burundi — one of the world's most vulnerable nations — orphaned children face an uncertain future. Without family, without support, the path forward can be devastating.

But these boys were not forgotten. P61 was already walking alongside communities in Burundi, and when this family's story reached us, we knew we had to act — not with a program, but with presence.

A Family Found Them

Through P61's network on the ground in Burundi, these three boys were placed into a loving home. Not an institution. Not a temporary arrangement. A real family — people who chose to open their hearts and their home.

Today, these boys are growing up knowing something that every child deserves to know: they are valued, they are wanted, and they are full of potential. They have meals on the table, a roof over their heads, and people who call them by name.

Growing Up With Purpose

The boys are now in school, building friendships, and discovering who they were always meant to be. Where there was once grief, there is now laughter. Where there was uncertainty, there is now hope. They play, they learn, they dream — like every child should.

Why This Matters

Burundi is one of the world's poorest and most fragile nations. Orphaned children here face extreme vulnerability — from malnutrition to exploitation to a life without education. But when a community steps in, everything changes.
